Lee Hongki hurt over lipsyncing accusations F.T.Island’s Lee Hongki shared his stories on today’s episode of Strong Heart about always going off key and cracking his voice while singing. He also spoke about being called a “hand-sync band,” which is a term that people use to describe bands that play with their instruments for recording, then only pretend to play the instruments during actual performances. Lee Hongki first talked about his mistake on SBS Gayo Daejun where he went off key. He said, “I wasn’t feeling well and I did make a mistake.” He was so sick that he had to go to the hospital after the performance. He continued, “After that, even when I tried really hard and did well live, people accused me of lipsyncing.” He spoke about being called a handsync band, saying, “It hurt a lot to hear that. We will work harder to be recognized for our talents.” What fans don’t know is that instruments aren’t allowed to be played live on live broadcast music programs. F.T. Island to promote Flower Rock in Japan? It’s been made known that F.T. Island is working with Warner Music and is currently scheduling to release a new single in Japan under the new label on May 19th. The title for this upcoming single hasn’t been officially released but it may have been revealed through cyworld.  F.T. Island member Jonghun recently posted this on his cyworld (image credit: Cy + Ftworldfriends[E.Yang]@wordpress) The Korean text reads: Don’t post any stickers. He put that there because many posts on cyworld are bombarded with sticker images in the comments, so he just went ahead and said don’t do it. Anyways, there’s speculation that Flower Rock will be the title of their new single. There’s also word that after F.T. Island is done promoting in Japan with this new single they will go back to the motherland and release their 6th album in Korea some time in late August or early September. Heechul writes about Lee Hongki’s Birthday  Although F.T. Island member Lee Hongki birthday was on March 2nd, Super Junior member Heechul just recently wrote about Hongki’s birthday yesterday. Heechul wrote on his cyworld that they actually had to celebrate Hongki’s birthday in advance because of his busy schedule out of the country. Along with Heechul other celebrities who attended the party include Jonghyun, Mighty Mouth’s Sang Chu and Shorty J, Epik High’s Mithra Jin, Jang Geun Suk, Trax’s Jungmo, and Nassun. Heechul also mentioned that he brought a high end camera that he received as a gift (DSLR) but couldn’t take any photos because he didn’t know how to use the camera. Included in the entry was this photo (taken by Nassun’s camera) and a video. In the video, they look a bit tipsy and it also looks like they had a great time.  F.T. Island goes bare face for Baviphat On March 8th, FT Island had a CF photo shoot for cosmetics brand Baviphat. Although the boys just returned from there Asia tour, they showed no signs of fatigue as they revealed their heart beating attractiveness. The picture released from their photo shoot revealed the boys’ healthy looking bare faces. F.T. Island does 2PM’s Heartbeat  The beastly beginning, pyramid position and zombie-like dance moves have made 2PM’s Heartbeat a big hit with everyone ever since it’s release last year. Just recently, two members from F.T. Island, Jaejin and Seunghyun did a dance cover of Heartbeat while they were on a break from their filming for their Baviphat CF photo shoot. FT Island is fresh for Litmus 2010  After rocking the fangirls and boys in Manila yesterday, FT Island takes a break from the stage and takes some time to provide their fans with some spring time eye candy. It’s been a while since we’ve seen the boys don some Litmus gear. The last time was way back in October for the winter season. It’s Showtime for FT Island in the Philippines  The boys of FT Island have been quite busy the past few months traveling to Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, and Thailand. Currently, the boys are in the Philippines for the FT Island Manila 2010 Showcase. To promote this event they appeared on the popular Filipino show Showtime. On the show they performed Still and also promoted You’re Beautiful, in which Lee Hongki had a major role as Jeremy in the fictional band A.N.JELL. Lee Hongki sings I’m a Loner like an A.N.JELL  In a special guest appearance at a radio show, Lee Hongki sang a brief segment of CNBLUE’s I’m a Loner on-air. The song is actually appropriate for Lee Hongki and Jung Yong Hwa as they were both the supporting actors of the popular SBS drama You’re Beautiful, playing the role of chasing after Go Mi Nam (played by Park Shin Hye), but failing to win her heart at the end. With Lee Hongki’s extraordinary vocal abilities, it was nothing out of the ordinary that he delivered a commendable rendition of CNBLUE’s debut song. Although he struggled a bit with the rapping, his attempt was cute enough to be forgiven easily. Shinwoo hyung would be proud regardless. The public has made friendly comparisons between Lee Hongki and Jung Yong Hwa in the past because of their talents as an actor and a singer of an indie rock band. CNBLUE was even dubbed the next F.T.  5-member idol band, FT Island, will hold activities mainly in Japan and Korea this year. After FT Island completes their 7-countries Asia tour, they will leave for Japan on 15th March and will be staying in Japan till August. They plan to have their comeback in Korea in the second half of the year. Their management company, FnC Music, said on 3rd that, “FT Island has a contract with the local (Japan) company to do album recordings and activities. They plan to release a new album in Korea after they return in August.” Before leaving for Japan, FT Island will hold their Seoul encore concert on 21st February at Dom Art Hall, Seoul.   Challenge between the Korean Flower Boybands! Korean boybands, Shinee and FT Island, both visited our shores last weekend and created a frenzy among the fans for the first time ever. How popular are they in Singapore? Let’s take a look at the figures below: Hundreds of fans fetching them at the airport, thousands gathered at heartland malls, imported albums completely sold out…… Let’s see who wins the challenge! Inset 1: SHINee Pronounced “Shiny”, a shining and dazzling boyband. They are also the juniors of Super Junior, Girls’ Generation and other popular Korean bands. Age between 17 to 20. Members were discovered at SM Entertainment audition castings. Able to dance, sing, rap and act. Inset 2: FT Island The name, FT Island, represents Five Treasures, with each of the 5 members being a treasure. Age between 18 to 20. Debuted in 2007 and released 3 full albums. An idol band with talents. 60 secs Q&A with the Media: What do you want to say to your Singapore fans? FT Island: We’re very thankful for their support. When we came to Singapore for the first time, we were very shocked to see so many fans waiting for us at the airport, even when it’s nearly 12am. SHINee: We’re really surprised to see so many people coming to support us. All of you are born in the 90s and are currently students. Between studies and singing career, which one will you choose? FT Island: (giving the same answer) Because it’s hard to cope with both, we’ve decided to focus on our career. We do not attend schools regularly anymore, but we do go for some language courses occasionally. SHINee: Sometimes our schedules are very packed, so we had no choice but to skip certain classes. Would you like to act in Korean dramas? FT Island: Our vocalist, Lee Hongki, was casted as “Jeremy” in the drama “You’re Beautiful” last year, and all of us were envious of him. However, we believe that Hongki’s participation in the drama helps to bring up the popularity of the band, increasing the exposure of FT Island.
