                                  U-KISS successfully completes performances at “Kings of Freedom” concert

U-KISS put their fans in a frenzy after performing at the “Kings of Freedom Concert” in Singapore on the night of November 19th.
The boys performed their latest track, “Shut Up!“, along with “Man Man Ha Ni,” “Bingeul Bingeul,” and others.
The freedom concert is one of Singapore’s representative music festivals, and U-KISS was invited as one of the only foreign musicians. Over 5,000 people gathered for the concert.
U-KISS held a short press conference at Singapore’s Korea Plaza and stated, “This is our third visit to Singapore and we feel that it’s a great honor to be able to participate in such a great concert. We will work our hardest to show the charms of Korean music.”
Yong Sun Joong of the Singaporean branch of the Korea Tourism Organization added, “A lot of people in Singapore have much interest in Korean music. U-KISS helped improve Korea’s image and promote tourism as well.”

Ukiss Dongho revealed the reason why he only was only given 8 syllables

U-KISS's Dongho revealed that puberty is the reason why he wasn’t given many parts in a song.
On the April 20th broadcast of SBS Strong Heart, Dongho said "My puberty period came just as I'm about to debut as a singer. We were in the middle of recording the song for the first time when suddenly my voice didn’t come out. I got panicked."

Dongho revealed “Because of that, my parts in the song were reduced to 8 syllables.”

Hearing this, Super Junior's Eunhyuk steal the attention by saying "8 syllables are considered a lot." He commented on this "That was a lot. I only received 5 syllables" while Shindong replied “I don’t even have any parts. They only gave me a turned-off microphone!" which created a huge laughter among the guests.

Mworago !



U-KISS once again is stirring up the stage with their follow up song entitled 'Mworago'. The multinational 7 members idol group, U-KISS, returned with their follow up song 'Mworago' after finished promoting their title song 'Bingeul Bingeul'. Their plan is to gain more popularity with 'Mworago'.


'Mworago' is a song that featured s Shibuya hip-hop style which is the current trend in Europe with a mix of Electronic House Rock, and a combination of powerful rap song. Especially the chorus part which is full of strong lyrics like 'What did you say?, what did you just say?, what did you say to me?', as well as the reversal lyrics such as 'I love you so leave space for’ and 'I'll wait for you so behind you'. This song was a candidate for U-KISS 1st full album's title song alongside 'Bingeul Bingeul' before the latter was chosen.


U-KISS came out with 'Kangnam Dance (Strong Guy Dance)' for 'Man Man Ha Ni' and 'Whirlwind/Tornado Dance' for 'Bingeul Bingeul'. They came out with a special 'Point Dance' for 'Mworago'.


U-KISS has started promoting 'Mworago' after returning from Philippines and Thailand.

The U-Kiss boys recently begun promotions on M! Countdown with their new song, What but like many other singers promoting during this period, their schedules have been disrupted due to events out of their control.

But one thing is definitely confirmed and that is they would be heading to Malaysia this coming June! U-Kiss member, Alexander had only just tweeted about it yesterday and we have one location confirmed today.



Geneses Dream Entertainment have managed to get U-Kiss to Malaysia for a fan meeting on 19th June at the KLCC. There were some doubts initially among U-Kiss fans who questioned whether it was a scam but the exclusive teaser video recorded by the U-Kiss members should put your fears to rest.

UKISS FOR ELLE GIRL !

 

The 7-member boy group famous at home and abroad, U-Kiss has recently participated in a pictorial for Elle Girl as their main models for the May issue. Flaunting their dandy charm, the boys also joined in for a brief interview with Elle Girl and shared their pride of being the so-called International Idols.

The jokester Soohyeon revealed, “Ever since I was in school, I was very talkative and often made my friends laugh. My middle school friends tell me that they thought I was going to be a comedian instead. I am enjoying [my life] right now by being who I am.”

U-Kiss’ maknae Dongho also shared, “[Despite my image], I like being alone and I am currently investing my income in stock market.”

A couple weeks ago, U-Kiss held their own showcase in the Philippines on the 4th, gathering more than 20,000 fans under one roof. On top of that, they were also a part of Shocking M Super Concert in Bangkok hosted by Mnet, captivating the hearts of their Thai fans. With the U-Kiss fever striking Asia-wide, it seems the boys are a step closer to being worldwide superstars.

To cash in on the upcoming Fifa World Cup 2010 in South Africa and to generate excitement among the soccer-mad public in Korea, MTV Korea has created a special program where male idol group members form a soccer team and compete against five other soccer teams who sign up for this online. The program will air from May 22nd.

The 14-member team for MTV’s Idol United listed on their website:

U-Kiss’ follow-up song What plagiarized SHINee’s Amigo?

During an episode of God of Cookery Expedition that aired on the 9th, U-Kiss members Soo Hyun and Ki Seop briefly performed a preview of What from their latest album Only One.
The track, which is to be used for the boy band’s follow-up promotions, maintains the same trend of an electronic sound and synthesized vocals from their previous songs, Man Man Ha Ni and Bingeul Bingeul.

As they unveiled the highlight of their choreography on the show for the first time, comedian Kim Shin Young teased that the song bore a resemblance to SHINee’s Amigo. The U-Kiss duo weren’t very amused with Kim Shin Young’s commentary, prompting Soohyun to glare at her direction. Soo Hyun jokingly declared, “U-Kiss fans, let’s defeat Kim Shin Young!”, sending everyone on set laughing.



Although Kim Shin Young was only messing around, let’s hope U-Kiss doesn’t receive too much criticism from plagiarism accusations. They haven’t even begun promoting What yet.
Apart from the three words, What and Amigo sound nothing alike.

U-Kiss to Hold A Major Concert in the Philippines



Still reminiscing about your U-Kiss experience in Manila? Well, try to hold it in for about a month longer because you’re going to see them again!

Recently U-Kiss held their first Philippine Promo tour in Manila for 3 consecutive days and it was a success! Not only did Kibum drink 3 liters of watermelon and mango juice during their Manila stay, but they also pleased the fans with their hot performances onstage. Thanks to (PEP) Premiere Entertainment Philippines Inc. who brought them to Manila.

After they wowed their Filipino fans on their recent mall shows last March, the 7 member boy group U-Kiss will set forth in Manila again for a huge major concert at the big dome (Araneta Coliseum) on May 29th. Tickets for said concert are not yet available, but after earning more than 1 million sales on their recent show, you bet it’ll be sold out! I wonder if they will let Filipino artist to perform with them on stage. Well, let’s wait for more updates!

Furthermore, PEP are currently under negotiations to bring Big Bang, Wonder Girls and 2ne1 to the country.

Oh yeah, time to save up people!

DJ Mo Twister responds to U-Kiss fangirl rage

Ever since DJ Mo Twister posted an incendiary tweet about U-Kiss that spread all over the kpopverse, the DJ has undoubtedly been antagonized and been criticized as a close-minded, discriminated and even racist figure. Although he made it pretty clear that he didn’t plan on apologizing, the Filipino DJ wrote a response to the whole situation on his blog today. It’s been pretty clear how fans of U-Kiss feel about the controversy, so it’s only fair to hear DJ Mo Twister’s side, right?
Here’s the full post straight from his website:
I was debating on whether I’d address this or not. I’ve received a few thousand messages on my personal Twitter regarding comments I made about k-pop group UKISS when I saw them perform on Party Pilipinas (GMA-7) last Sunday. What I said exactly was this:
Since I posted these comments, I have received thousands of demands for a public apology and equally large amounts of death threats.
Yeah, right. Like what the fuck are you 12 year olds going to do?
Listen kids, what I wrote was my opinion meant to critique their fashion sense. I felt it’s in the same line as how critics dissect the Best and Worst Dressed at awards night. Look at their photo and be realistic, I am not off on my assessment–those dudes dress and look like chicks. If you find that offensive, why? Actually, your visceral reaction to my comment may even be interpreted as homophobic. So many people have messaged me saying that Korea doesn’t have an established gay culture so saying a male looks like a female is unbelievably offensive. My reply: “I don’t give a fuck”. That is your problem. If you think being called feminine is an insult, you have other issues you need to deal with.
This is not directly related to what has happened but let me be clear about my stance on homosexuality since it may be an issue here in case some of you don’t understand my point. I would support any movement to legalize gay marriage and to give EVERYONE the same legal rights, as sexual orientation should not have any bearing with rights you have as a citizen of any nation. I have countless gay friends and relatives, I likely work with more homosexuals than I do with heterosexuals, my problem with some of you UKISS fans is that you take my comment and throw it back at me saying that “calling them homosexual look-a-likes” is the worst possible insult anyone can give them. That’s where you are wrong and perhaps even more politically incorrect than I am.
Well, since last Sunday, I have been subject of numerous kpop fan sites and I even have a Facebook page demanding for me to apologize–that page has 5,000+ members, awesome. Actually, I would have apologized if it weren’t for these hypocritical fans that accuse me of doing something wrong, demand me to say sorry, then threaten to kill me if I don’t do it. Fuck off you parasites. That is a sure way to NOT get what you are requesting for. Instead, I’ll now just sit here, enjoy the trouble all this ruckus has caused, and laugh at more photos of these UKISS babes.
Come on, look at these photos. If me and my guy friend piled on some makeup, took a picture and I had my fingers on his lips, I’d get teased for looking like a buffoon. They look like they’re blowing each other in private after the photo shoot. But again, there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s an expression of love.
And don’t get me started on this teddy bear photo (below).
The post has already received over seven hundred comments from angry U-Kiss fans, Mo defenders and people in between.
“I am actually a fan of UKISS and actually I wasn’t at all offended by any of your tweets,” one commenter said. “Yes it is your opinion. I respect that. When I saw that most of the UKISS fans reacted to this I was like “What the? LOL” I couldn’t even understand why.”
Another person replied, “I don’t mind your opinion regarding their clothing and etc. However, the way you had said things were offensive and degrading way (as it seemed that you were implying it in a negative way). You could have expressed your opinion in a much more respectful way.”


So do you think DJ Mo Twister had a right to post his own opinion, or was his comment still too far out of line?

U-Kiss is stirring up the Philippines


U-Kiss will hold multiple showcases in Manila, the Philippines and other cities in the span of four days starting on the 26th. These showcases are made possible by the Philippines’ big time entertainment company Premier Entertainment.


Premier is planning on inviting lots of artists to perform in the Philippines and U-Kiss is their first target. They picked U-Kiss because the group has international members and won the 2008 Asia Song Festival Rookie Award.

U-Kiss Kevin’s 10-year contract is off.



The day of unfair contracts seems to be coming to an end judging from this latest development regarding U-Kiss member, Kevin. With regards to the unfair contract that Kevin had signed with his former agency, XING Entertainment, the courts has ruled in favour of the former.

Months earlier, a new law had been passed pertaining to celebrities which ruled that that if a contract is too long or unfair in terms of the income and the amount of work someone does, the contract will be terminated.
U-Kiss’s Kevin is supposedly one of the beneficiaries of this new ruling that was passed recently. The Seoul High Court announced, “His previous company made a 10-year contract with Kevin and now the contract has been terminated.”

The court continued, “A 10-year contract is too long. It’s wrong in the context of social order. XING Entertainment was trying to keep Kevin under them for so long and they were taking rights from him. His profit was also unfairly divided.”

His contract stated:
-If albums sold over 500,000 copies, he could get 50000000 won ($44,000).
-If single albums sold over 500,000 copies, he could get 25000000 won ($22,000).
-If albums sold over 1,000,000 copies, he could earn 100000000 won ($88,000).

Most artists in Korea do not even sell over 100,000 copies of their albums, so this was a long shot. Kevin was living under an unfair contract at the time and luckily he is out of it now. Let’s just hope he has a better one with U-Kiss’s company, NH Media

U-Kiss’ Dongho is weak against girls



On the upcoming episode of SBS’s Quiz Sixth Sense, U-Kiss‘ Dongho revealed that he is weak against girls!

During the show, the topic of “How to win in a talk fight against your girlfriend” was brought up.
In this discussion, Dongho revealed, “When I have a talk fight against female friends, I always lose. … Like other kids my age, I sometimes tease female students. But every time I start, it ends into a talk fight against them.”

He then gave a message to females in general and said, “Males tease females if they like them. Please don’t react very negatively to this.”

Cast member Kim Chang Ryeol then joked, “There’s a rumor that Dongho teases all the girls in his class,” to which Dongho responded by shaking his head with an unfair expression.

U-Kiss Fears to be Seen as Rude?

"We're afraid that the seniors will look at us as rude"

U-KISS made a comeback into the music industry with full charisma, with their title song 'Bingeul Bingeul'. Right after that, they became a hot stuff, appearing in radio program, music program, variety programs etc.

They are witty and don't mind appeared with their body gags through variety programs just like what gag men & gag women do, so it's not impossible for them to survive in the world of variety programs.

U-KISS's Soohyun, who had just beginning to gain the attention in the variety programs, was asked about the difficulties he had while doing variety programs, told the TVDaily during the interview "I'm a member of God Of Cookery Expedition right now, it's hard when I have to keep eating while my stomach is already full."

Soohyun revealed "We have to visit 2 restaurants in order to film for 1 episode. We shoot for 2 episode in one day so we have a total of 4 places to visit and eat. Really, I have to keep telling myself that do not listen to my stomach even though I'm full already."

Then Kibum told his story "It's a bit hard when filming the variety programs with the seniors. Because there are lots of laughter and informal talks in variety programs, so it's unavoidable that the seniors might be offended by that. I worry that such actions might seems rude to them so I apologize to them a lot during the recording."

Foreign member Alexander too, whose his Korean is still rusty, agreed with the subject.

He shared his unfortunate experiences "Eli and I aren't fluent in Korean yet, so we tend to miss lots of timing to talk in variety programs. There are lots of things that I want to say but the words won't come out of my mouth, or not well presented."

Dongho, Eli, Thunder and Key to host a new variety show


Idol groups’ finest, U-Kiss’ Dongho and Eli, Shinee’s Key, and Mblaq’s Thunder will all be getting together as hosts for a new variety show.




This new show, Raising an Idol, will be shown through a cable channel and the first filming is set for the 5th.


In response to the news of this new variety show, fans have been commenting, “What kind of program is ‘Raising an Idol’?” “It’s not another program where they date girls, right?” and “I’m looking forward to seeing them on a variety show.”

A representative stated, “Dongho, Eli, Key, and Thunder have been chosen as Raising an Idol’s members. Raising an Idol will be a reality program where these idol stars will be using their knowledge and skills. We believe that the members will do well despite their young age, because they have a lot of talent.”
